User Authentication

As a Yahoo Native Publisher, you’ll be able to authenticate using IdB2B (Identity Business-to-Business).

IdB2B is the standard authentication client used by Yahoo properties and is the bridge between the Yahoo Native Publisher app and the user’s authorization server.

Example user authentication scenario

This is how it works:

  1. An Apple iOS or macOS Desktop user visits https://publishing.yahoo.com to log in.

  2. The user enters their email address in the login form and clicks enter.

  3. IdB2B detects this is an @apple.com email and then routes the user to Apple Connect.

  4. Once authorized, Apple Connect will redirect back to IdB2B with additional user metadata that will then be passed to Yahoo Native Publisher so that the system can identify the user, their role, and so on.
