Ad Position Targeting

This article describes resources that enable you to read and define ad position targeting.

Overview

The Yahoo DSP supports AD_POSITION targeting for lines serving display ads.

Endpoint

/traffic/lines/{id}/targeting
  • A GET request enables you to view ad positions targeted by the specified line.

  • A POST request enables you to target ad positions with the specified line.

Resources

The targeting resource is the standard Yahoo DSP resource for targeting consumers based on their profiles, behaviors, and ad content.

The targeting resource is defined by the following AD_POSITION targeting type-specific fields:

For display ads, specifies location on the page where the ad appears:

  • ABOVE_FOLD - The ad serves on the top 50% of the page.

  • PARTIAL_VIEW - The ad serves when at least 25% of the ad is visible.

  • BELOW_FOLD - The ad serves on the bottom 50% of the page.

  • UNKNOWN - The ad serves in an unknown position.

Specifies an array of targeting types to update, enable, or disable.

AD_POSITION targeting type must be specified to apply the changes.

Add/Update Ad Position Targeting

Add or update ad position targets for the specified line.

POST /traffic/lines/{id}/targeting/

Parameters

The line ID is specified in the path of the URL. All other parameters are specified in the body of the application/json payload.
